LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Summit Entertainment says it plans to release the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon” on November 20th of next year, according to Entertainment Weekly.
With that date in mind, pre-production on the film is set to begin in Vancouver by December 15th. A director to replace Catherine Hardwicke has not yet been hired by the studio.
Another concern, according to several unnamed movie executives, is that the script is not yet finished. Also there are reports that Summit wants to replace actor Taylor Lautner as Jacob, who has a larger role in “New Moon.”
EW reports that director Chris Weitz has been offered the “New Moon” job, but that a deal to secure the “The Golden Compass” director has not yet been finalized.
